About Us

The Cottonball Children’s Fund was established in June of 2018. The inspiration for this fund is a gentleman named Gary Grossman from Chelsea, Michigan. Gary was raised in Chelsea with his sister Susan. He was an Army veteran from the Vietnam War. Gary was a faithful churchman and generous to his church and the projects that supported youth and children. Gary died in Chelsea on June 28, 2012. This fund has been formed in his honor and will be used to support children’s organizations internationally, nationally, and locally.

Cottonball was the name of a fuzzy sheep puppet used often in Children’s sermons at Gary’s church. If it had been too long since Cottonball made her presence known, Gary would come into the pastor’s office and gently say, “You know, it’s been a while since we’ve seen Cottonball.” She appeared the next Sunday.  Gary Grossman was a man pure in heart with appreciation for the goodness around him. He brought much happiness to many. We want to continue Gary's legacy of caring for children with generosity and practical care.

Our mission is to meet basic needs for little ones, through providing food, diapers, and hygiene items to those close to home and across the globe.

“A creative education has the power to catapult children into a lifetime of curiosity.”
